Have you checked your vision lately?
I was having a spell a while ago of having problems with my eyesight. Well, not so much my eyesight, really, but I kept leaving my glasses places (I wear them from time to time to give my eyes a rest from contact lenses) and needing a new pair, or having issues with the fit of my contact lenses. And each time I went in to the optician, I'd have the obligatory eye check-up - and inevitably there'd be some minor adjustment to be made to the strength of the lens I was using to see the world. It was a great mirror. I asked myself, was I 'seeing' things properly in my life? Did I need to make an adjustment to the 'lens' I was using to see the world? The mirror was precise: there was always some kind of tweak that I needed to make to enable me to see things as they really were. It's all a matter of whether we want to have 20/20 vision or simply see OK. And I wanted tip-top vision. I reflected on someone I knew of who was working on a high-falutin project to create a 'centre of light' for those who had lost their way - to 'bring heaven to earth'. And they were getting a lot of buy-in on the project from very rich people. But because the people behind the project hadn't been doing their inner work so assiduously, I could see there was something distorted in it. And feeling out what this was was causing me to look more deeply in the mirror and to eke out any distortion in myself. Because I, for one, don't want to create something else on this earth that has distortion in it and lead people astray. Surely there's enough of that going on already!Like the optician who gets that brighter-than-bright light to check out the back of your retina, we need to shine the bright light of our consciousness in all the dark places and get a clear perception of how we're seeing things, how we're being. Does the lens with which you see the world need checking? Be clear with yourself. Is there any way you're deceiving yourself about what you're being? Here at Little White Feather, we offer transformational coaching - by phone, skype or in person - to help tease out some of these issues. If you feel you would benefit from a session, do get in touch!
