The coronavirus: An opportunity to rise into our sovereignty?

At our annual Soul Gifts Retreat in Glastonbury at the weekend, we spent some time exploring the spiritual message of coronavirus - if there is one - and also the opportunities and the gifts it presents… because there’s always a gift, isn’t there, in any situation, if you’re prepared to dig deeply enough?

And one gift of coronavirus was that it has brought humanity to its knees, to a point where we are questioning the way we are living. And not before time, eh?

And sometimes the only way to rise into our true ‘sovereignty’ (‘corona’, interestingly, means ‘crown’ in a number of cultures - sovereign - crown - geddit?) is when we have first been ‘humbled’ and brought to our knees. And not only is the disease a great leveller - it applies to those of every country and every creed, the rich and the poor alike - but it has the capacity to bring us together, like never before. And, as I see it, we are being encouraged to dig deeper to find gold, not be rendered incapable by kowtowing to the fear agenda that has been created around the virus.

And the way that we are being encouraged to ‘self-isolate’ could be the making of us, as a race, at this time in history - if we use the time to self-reflect, adjust the tiller, self-correct and make changes, that is. Meditation, contemplation and connecting with nature… rather than plugging more deeply into our technology or the TV and tuning into what spiritual leader, Eileen Caddy - founder of Scotland’s inspirational Findhorn Foundation - called, ‘the still, small voice within’ - the place of all answers, would be a good start.
