It’s approaching the time of year when tadpoles start appearing in ponds and lakes around us. Like many of us as children, I’ve often found watching the tadpole’s metamorphosis fascinating – as every stage of it occurs right before our eyes, in gardens and woodland ponds.
But the tadpole's journey has become even more intriguing to me recently, since I realised it wasn't quite what it seemed to be on the surface Read More...

I gave a talk last week, for Greater Gatherings in Esher, on my experience of what I called Unfolding into Joy. Since then a number of people have fed back to me that the thing they related to most strongly was the suggestion that, when everything feels like it is falling apart in our lives, the thing we can best do for our growth is, rather than to cling on for dear life (which can seem like the 'natural' thing to do) to actually surrender into the uncertainty of that moment - and let go Read More...

I drew a card a couple of weeks ago from my treasured pack of animal 'oracle cards' - I often use them to help me find answers to questions in my life - the answers that are already within me but which are, for whatever reason, eluding me.
It was spot on! I had pulled the 'Alligator card'. Now, for me, 'Gator' is all about (more Read More...

A man appeared at my door this morning - a Jehovah’s witness, perhaps, I don't know - wanting to know if I believed that Jesus' resurrection had taken place (it being Eastertime and all that).
I told him that the story of Jesus personally meant a great deal to me, and took his leaflet (I’m doing some ‘inner research’ around the Jesus story at the moment) but that for me whether he was or was not resurrected in the physical was not the issue Read More...

To me, this is a delightful phase in our human evolution on planet Earth. It's like at many levels we are starting to assume the true 'angelic familiness' that was always our destiny: an existence where effortless co-creation falls naturally out of each moment. And as part of this process, anything that is out of balance is coming naturally into balance - without pushing, without effort Read More...

I've been given some quite powerful mirrors this week (you know, the kind that are so 'in your face' that you can't avoid looking into them - and stop you in your tracks for a while?). If I were to define it in a phrase, I'd say it's been an 'after the ecstasy the laundry' kind of week (more...)

This really is one of my favourite times of the year… not just because Spring is just round the corner - in fact the first crocuses are already out - but simply because it's Valentine’s Week! And every time I announce this (which is most years, I suppose), my announcement is often met with consternation and surprise! Yes, of course, like Christmas, Valentine's Day has become commercial and fraught with obligation for many… but I don’t need to get involved in that, do I?
For me, it's an excuse to celebrate the greatest of all teachers, the transformational power of love Read More...

Something really struck a chord with me at a retreat I was on at the New Year. It was the concept of the 'divine human being' - what Chris, who was running the event, called homo divinicus (as opposed to homo sapiens).
Why did this strike a chord with me? (more...)
